SOUTH PARK (REIGATE) 2 VS HORNDEAN FC 2
Saturday 18th January 2025 | Attendance 108
The Sparks came from behind twice to earn a hard earned point against Horndean.

Horndean opened the scoring in the 12th minute through their first meaningful attack, the ball be played into the box from the left and finding its way to an unmarked Sam Ashton at the far post to score from close range. Horndean thought that they should have been given a penalty soon after but the referee cautioned Ashton for simulation. Vinnie Tume’s left foot shot was well saved by Cameron Scott in the Horndean goal. Parke levelled the scores in the 24th minute, Tume breaking down the right and crossing for Bobby Mills to head back across goal into he far corner of the net. Adam Payce shot wide and Ryan Keates free kick was comfortably saved by Danny Backen. Mills low shot was save by Scott by the post.

Three minutes into the second half Horndean regained the lead as Park fail to clear a cross from the right and the ball dropped to Ashton 6 yards out who shot past Bracken. Two minutes later the Sparks were back on level terms. Tume was fouled twenty yards out. Brendan Murphy-McVey’s free kick took a deflection which wrong footed Scott and nestled in the back of the net. Horndean were reduced to ten men in the 61st minute when Adam Payce was dismissed for violent conduct. Bracken saved a speculative long range shot. Jack Tucker’s cross form the right found Andy Somo in space 15 yards out but he could not keep his shot down as the ball flew high over the bar. Another cross from the right was headed wide by Somo. Deep into stoppage time a long ball found Daniel Sibley one on one with Park keeper Bracken but it was Bracken who kept his nerve saving Sibley’s shot with his legs.
