WESTFIELD 1
VS SOUTH PARK (REIGATE) 0

Monday 25th August 2025

A depleted Sparks squad missing 8 players were unable to take any points from their trip to Westfield.

Park started brightly and a free kick saw Keating stab the ball goalwards only for Gallifant in the Westfield goal to block. Brad Sweeney’s curling shot was tipped onto the bar by Gallifant and the ball scrambled away by the Westfield defence. Jayden Barber cut in form the right but shot into the side netting. Finn Evan’s pace was a threat for the home side and he forced Danny Bracken into making a smart save from an angled shot. Keating shot wide form distance. Whilst Nathan Rogers did likewise for Westfield. Bracken made a good save to deny Isaac Brown before Evans long range shot was deflected behind for a corner.

Shamal Edwards broke down the left and found Keating who shot over the bar. The deadlock was broken in the 63rd minute when Evans latched onto a through ball and shot past Bracken from the edge of the area. James McElligott’s cross was cleared over his own bar by Quincy Patterson. Callum McAllister’s driven cross was inches away from meeting the outstretched boot of Edwards at the far post. Bracken saved from Brown.

The Sparks are without a game this week but return to action a week on Saturday when Broadbridge Heath are the visitors to Whitehall Lane in Isuzu FA Trophy.
