The first chance of he game came in the 15th minute for the home side when Ross Stepney’s long throw was volleyed high over the Park bar. A loose ball from Park allowed Leatherhead to break but Jack Tucker was alert and able to clear on the cover. Park almost broke the deadlock when substitute Craig McGee’s angled shot went narrowly wide of the far post. Shamal Edwards curling shot from 20 yards was tipped over the bar Leatherhead keeper just before the break.

Leatherhead broke the deadlock in the 46th minute as they made the most of ball that spun wickedly past the Park defender into the path of Sam De St Croix to score form 15 yards. Will Seager defected a long range shot behind for the corner as Leatherhead looked for a second goal. Alex Keating chased ball over the top of the Leatherhead defence and went down inside the area under a heavy challenge however the referee waived away Park’s appeals for a penalty. Jerry O’Sullivan was alert to on the cover the thwart a Leatherhead break away. Danny Bracken in the Park goal pushed away a shot from Kareen Akinnibi. Dan Moody’s 20 yards hot for the sparks was blocked. Kye Hamilton-Olise broke down the right and his cut back found Edwards whose shot was blocked Sonny Wheeler. Leatherhead increased their lead in the 78th minute when a cross form the left was met by Jacob Breckin whose glancing header nestled in the corner of the net. Kane Fitzgerald wrapped up the victory in the 86th minute has shot through a crowded penalty beat the unsighted Bracken.

The Sparks will look to get back to winning ways on Friday evening as they face Epsom & Ewell at Cobham Fc in the Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
