The Sparks fought back from a 2-0 deficit after six minutes to claim an injury time winner.

Hendon raced into a 2-0 lead inside the first 6 minutes. They opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when Dave Diedhiou headed home a corner at the far post. They increased their lead in the 6th minute when a near post corner was flicked on and Dave Diedhiou added his and Hendon’s second from close range. Danny Bracken in the Park goal pushed away another header whilst Aidan Brown had Park’s best opportunity getting on the end of Jerry O’Sullivan’s pass but Joshua Strizovic in the Hendon goal blocked the shot.

In the opening minute of the second half Nico Muir headed over the Park bar. Dan Moody’s 30 yard shot was saved by Strizovic, Brad Sweeney had a shot blocked and Shamal Edwards angled shot flew past the far post. The Sparks reduced the deficit in the 59th minute when Tom Smith and Edwards combined for Smith to shoot across Strizovic into the far corner of the net. Park drew level in the 79th minute when Alex Keating held off his marker and fired a 25 yard shot past Strizovic into the bottom corner of the net. Jayden Barber’s cutback found Sweeney whose shot was pushed away to safety. Craig McGee’s shot from the edge of the area was blocked by Nikolai Krokhin. In the 93rd minute Sweeney found McElligott in space wide on the right, he got to the byline and his cross found Edwards who made no mistake with his finish to score form six yards.
The Sparks now travel to Woking to face Westfield on Bank Holiday Monday.
