SOUTH PARK (REIGATE) 2
VS BINFIELD 0

Saturday 13th August | Attendance 116

The Sparks maintained their 100% home league record with a 2-0 home victory against Binfield to move up to 5th place in the league.

The opening quarter of the game saw little goalmouth action as both sides were defending well. Shamal Edwards had a goal bound shot blocked before Park took the lead in the 35th minute when Edwards cut back found Dan Moody who shot into the corner of the net. Danny Bracken tipped over a long range shot and Hayden Gale made a crucial tackle to deny a threatening Binfield attack as the Sparks went in at half time in front.

Danny Bracken saved an Ejiro Abbey shot and Jerry O'Sullivan threw his body in the way of a shot to keep Park’s lead intact. Park increased their lead in the 78th minute when Edwards latched onto a through ball from Moody and shot into the roof of the net from a narrow angle. Hayden Gale played a one two with Dontai Stewart and broke free and his shot was saved by Hugh Scott in the Binfield goal.

The Sparks are at home again on Tuesday when they entertain Littlehampton Town, 7.45 pm kick off.
