SOUTH PARK (REIGATE) 1
VS HANWORTH VILLA 0
Saturday 5th February 2025 | Attendance 125
The Sparks claimed all three points with a 1-0 victory over Hanworth Villa thanks to a debut goal from George Vincent.

New signing, George Vincent, made an immediate impact on his debut giving the Sparks the lead after just 39 seconds of the game. Jack Tucker played the ball into Tom Smith whose lay off found Vincent on the edge of the box and his first time shot nestled in the bottom corner of the net. Vincent was one of three new signings in the starting line up, along with defender, Hayden Gale, who joins on loan from Dorking Wanderers and Dan Moody, who returns to the club from Raynes Park Vale. Callum Corbin cut inside and his shot was saved by Mark Smith in the Villa goal. Hanworth’s claims for a penalty when Abdullah Javaid went down in the box were waved away by the referee. Bobby Mills got to the bye line, his driven cross just evaded the oncoming Park forwards. Mills then hit a curling left foot shot wide of the far post. Jack Tucker’s free kick from 20 yards was saved by Smith. Danny Bracken in the Park goal made a comfortable save from Manny Parry’s header.

Villa closed Park down further up the pitch in the second half not allowing Dan Moody the time and space he had in the first half. Jerry O’Sullivan blocked a shot on the edge of the 6 yard box and Corbin had a shot saved by smith low down by the post. As Villa applied more pressure Park were always a threat on the counter attacker. O’Sullivan dragged a shot wide and Vinnie Tume had a shot saved by Smith. Park’s defence stood firm as Villa put a number high balls into the Park area. Park had the chance to double their lead in stoppage time as Tume broke down the right and found Corbin in space but his shot was kicked away by Smith. Park stood firm and saw out the remaining minutes to claim the victory.

The Sparks now have successive away fixtures at Harrow Borough on Tuesday evening and then against Ashford Town Middx on Sunday at Cobham FC, 3pm kick off.
